Twilight Midnight Release Party

Friday night was the Midnight Release Party for Twilight! I had planned to just go to the Borders here in Fort Worth because I was supposed to have to close at work that night. Well, I ended up working on my day off and trading shifts with one of co-workers so that I could go with Lauren. Thursday, they announced that someone from the movie would appear at one of like 10 locations in the Dallas area. They were supposed to announce it on Access Hollywood Friday. I watched the show at 6:00pm, and nope! They didn't announce it! We were so mad! Luckily, Lauren had gotten word that something was going on at the Allen Borders that "we didn't want to miss"! So, we ended up there and decided we would still have fun even if it wasn't the right one. I got there around 8:30pm. Lauren had her laptop with her, so she was still searching to see if they had announced where the star would be, and finally it was confirmed that we were at the right one! WoooHooo! We were soooooo excited! We still didn't know which star would be there. It started at 10:00pm. We played Twilight trivia book vs. movie until around 11:30 and then started lining up to buy the DVD. Right before Midnight, in walks CATHERINE HARDWICK! For those of you who don't know, she is the Director of the movie! Sure, it wasn't one of the actors, but she freakin' directed the movie! If it wasn't for her, there wouldn't have been a movie made!!! They announced that she would only autograph the first 300 DVDs. Lauren had a blue wristband, so she was in the first 100. I had a pink wristband, and the line looked reallllyyy long, so I was worried that I wouldn't get an autograph, but I did! I was so happy! I still can't believe we got to meet her! She couldn't stop to pose for any pics with people while sighning autographs, so you had to kind of stand to the side and take pics of her if you wanted. I have a couple to share. And after she was done and about to leave, she actually posed for a pic with Lauren and her TwilightMoms friends because Catherine LOVES TwilightMoms! It was an awesome night and I'm so glad I got to share it with Lauren!

Birthday/Anniversary Vacation

I'm excited! We decided that for my birthday/our anniversary in May, we're gonna go to San Antonio for a couple days. We had originally planned to go there for our honeymoon, but then decided we'd rather go to Galveston. We really wanted to go back to Galveston, since that's where we went on our honeymoon, but since Hurricane Ike, I don't think many tourists are going there right now. I think it would make us sad to see all of the places where we made memories gone. So anyways. We're gonna go to Sea World one day. We'll go see The Alamo and we'll go to the Riverwalk. We're also probably gonna go to the Natural Bridge Caverns. I've been to San Antonio a couple times, but not since I was a teenager. Chris has never been. If it was up to him, we'd never go anywhere because he never went anywhere growing up. I was the total opposite. We took lots of family vacations. I went on vacations with my BFF every year as well. We even went to Paris, France and lived there for a month while babysitting her brother-in-law's daughter while he worked over there. I love to travel, and I want our children to experience the world around them like I did. So, yeah. I'm excited to start planning for that!

Tomorrow we're heading up to visit my parents. Hopefully it will stay nice out like it has been the last couple days. We're gonna BBQ some ribs! Yummy! Friday, I have to work, but then I get to go get my TWILIGHT DVD!!!!!!!!! I'm soooooo excited about that! I'll try to get some pics at Borders since I'm gonna go to the Midnight Release Party there!

Got alot done over the last week

In my last post, I mentioned that we were going to get new furniture with our tax return. We decided to go furniture shopping last week. We found what we wanted at Ashley Furniture, but it was a little more than we had, so we decided we'd look around some more. On the way home from furniture shopping, we saw this little privately owned furniture store. We decided we'd stop by and see what they had. We look around, and in the very back corner, we spot the sofa and love seat that we found at Ashley! The price on the sofa was $475. At Ashley, the sofa was $630 and the loveseat was like $580.! So, we call the salesman over and ask how much he would take for both pieces. We were straight up with him about how much money we had, and told him we really wanted this furniture. He gave it to us for what we had! $850 total for both pieces, including tax and stain guard protection! We got a great deal! We were so excited! This was our first big purchase. Pretty much everything else we own has been given to us or bought by someone else, so this is a big deal for us. We decided that the color in the living room didn't go, so we repainted it a green color. It looks really nice. We're getting the rest of the room put back in order now.

My parents are coming down tomorrow. They haven't been to our house in at least a year! We always go see them because my dad has back problems and it's kinda hard for him to travel sometimes. We'll probably go out to eat and then just visit at the house. Other than that, nothing else is really going on.

My temps are still pretty up and down even though I'm temping vaginally, so I really don't think I'm O'ing. It's so frustrating!!! I wish there was some way to make your body O without going to the Dr. I think I'll give it until June, marking 2 years of TTC, and if we still haven't gotten pregnant by then, I will start going to the Dr. again. I guess I'm just really afraid of getting told that I shouldn't get pregnant because of my weight issues. If it just happens naturally, then they can't control it. It's not fair! It's my decision, damn it! They get to tell me I can't have a child because of "what if's"?!?! If June comes, and I have to find another Dr., I don't care if I have to drive 2 hours away, I will find one that will help me! I know several people who are overweight and got fertility help from my hometown, so if I have to go to their Dr., then I will do it! Ok. Now I feel a little better getting that out.

Off to do some more cleaning now.

Valentine's Day, money spending, and JM meet up...

Chris and I had a great Valentine's Day this year! He bought me some roses, heart candy, a very very sweet card, and a new spice rack for our kitchen! Yes, a spice rack...I actually prefer to get present for our house instead of for me. I don't really need anything for me. I bought him another hard drive for his computer, so now he has over 1 terabyte of storage space! OMG! That's awesome! He's so excited! Can you tell he's just a big 'ol computer geek? lol I had to work on Valentine's Day, but only until 7, so after I got home, we went out to eat at our favorite Mexican restaraunt, Mexican Inn. It was so good! I had chicken quesadillas and he had enchilladas. We also each had a frozen margarita. They were yummy. I didn't figure it would hurt to have one drink even though we're ttc. I don't think I've even O'ed yet anyways. So, it was a pretty good day overall. We got our tax return on Friday! We decided that we are buying furniture for the living room. We bought a few things for the house as well. We bought a new, really pretty bedding set, a really nice red knife set, and a steam cleaner!!! I'm so excited about the steam cleaner! Now, hopefully I'll be able to keep the awful stains our dogs like to leave everywhere out!

Lauren and I finally got the chance to meet in person last weekend! We hung out at her house and then went and watched Twilight! It was my first time seeing it in the theater! It was great! I could actually see when Edward sparkled! lol We had a great time! I got to meet Clint too. They were both so nice! Hopefully we'll be able to meet up again soon, and they can meet Chris this time. Rambling...

We just got back from getting groceries, and it wore me out. lol I don't know why, I'm just so tired now. We got lots of good stuff. I bought a George Foreman grill too! I've been wanting one for awhile, and finally decided to get one. I'm excited to try it out. I bought some chicken to grill, so we'll have that one night. I need to look up some new recipes to try. It should be fun to try some new things and its supposed to be healthier for you too.

We're working on getting the house looking good now. We had a long talk the other night about Chris helping me out more around the house because I'm the one that does everything right now. So, he agreed that he would help out more. Hopefully he keeps his word on that. So far, he's been doing good. We've gotten a few things done. We finally put my X-mas decorations back in the storage room. We had lots of other junk that was just laying around like extra computer parts that Chris wasn't using and things like that, so he took all that stuff to the storage room too. When we get our taxes back, we're either going to buy new appliances for the kitchen since we didn't get to last year, or we'll buy new living room furniture. We'll see. We're finishing up a couple of painting jobs we never finished. I'm horrible about that. Starting some home improvement project and never getting around to finishing them. So, we're trying to finish all those little projects up, organize and de-clutter, and just give the whole house a good cleaning. We're just doing a little each day so that it's not so overwhelming. We should have the whole house looking good pretty soon. It's just the challenge of keeping it that way.

It looks like me and Lauren will finally get to meet on Saturday as long as nothing happens before then. I'm excited to finally meet her! She actually only lives about 30 minutes from my hometown. I will try to take some pics to share the experience. I'm a little nervous because I'm kind of a quiet person, so I don't want her to think I'm boring. hahaha I'm sure she wouldn't think that. lol

Next week, we plan on going to visit my family. We try to go up there once a month at least. We always have fun visiting with everyone. I wish we could see them more. Maybe someday we'll get to live closer to them.

I'm pretty much over my cold now. If AF would hurry up and leave then I'd be good. She is definitely kicking my butt this month! I've had really bad cramps the last 2 days and it's been heavy. I haven't had cramps that bad since I took provera to make AF start, and that was over a year ago. I wonder if I actually O'ed this past month and so this was a real AF instead of just breakthrough bleeding like when I don't O, and that's why I've had cramps and it's been heavier like they used to be. It would be nice to think that I actually did O. That's why I'm gonna try charting again. I hate not knowing if I O'ed or not. I think I'm gonna do vaginal temping this time though because it seems more accurate. Maybe this will be our month. The other night I showed Chris' Mom and Granny our baby stash, and the bedding set that I bought. They both LOVED the bee bedding set! They know we've been ttc and can't wait for me to get pg. His mom keeps saying she wants us to have her a grandson. I love it when they actually talk about it and are excited about it.

Ok, I'm tired now, so I think that I'll stop rambling and go to bed. Night.

I've neglected you again...

Ok, it's official! I am the worlds worst blogger! haha I haven't been on here since before I went to Michigan over 2 months ago! I've been so busy with holidays, birthdays, work, and other things that I haven't had too much extra time to update. Alright, I'll admit it, reading the whole Twilight Saga had me pretty busy too! lol I'm so totally obsessed with all things Twilight now. Chris hates it, but he's learned to deal with his Twilight loving wife. The holidays were awesome! We spent time with both our familys. Not too much drama that I recall, so that's always good. Since Christmas, we've had 5 birthdays, so we've been broke and busy! Things are going ok at work now. For awhile there, we weren't getting very many hours and I was thinking about finding another job. But it looks like things are picking up now, so as long as I keep getting my normal 30 hrs, I'll stay. TTC is...TTC. Just started AF again a couple days ago. Mother Nature is so cruel sometimes. I got as far as CD35 with no spotting, which is not normal for me, so I was getting a little hopeful. I decided to tell one of my friends at work about it, and not even 5 minutes later, I went to the restroom, and SURPRISE! There she was...no warning at all! Grrrr! It made me so mad. I told my friend that a sure fire way of making her come was to talk about being hopeful or POAS. lol After AF is gone, I think I'll temp again. It's been awhile since I stopped, and since my cycles seem to be regulating, I figure it's worth another shot. Hmmm...anything else going on? Not that I can think of. Oh, I'm sick with a cold. Have been since last Friday. It sucks, but doesn't being sick always suck? I just want to feel good again. Ugh. Oh yeah, and I'm planning on meeting up with one of my JM friends, Lauren one day hopefully this next week! I'm excited to meet her! She rocks and she loves Twilight too! She even went on a trip to Forks! It was awesome seeing all the pics! And Shannon is gonna come down so we can all go see New Moon together in November too! So excited! Well. I'll try to start updating this again now that I'm not so busy.

Had a little extra time...

So, it's now 3:20 a.m. I'm planning on heading to bed at 4, and waking up at 12. That will give me 2 & 1/2 hours to get around before heading up to my parents. Nothing went as planned today, but I survived. The house didn't exactly get cleaned as well as I would have liked. I ended up just barely having enough time to straighten up a few things, wipe down the bathroom, do a few dishes, and that's about all. Chris is responsible for getting the rest clean before Thanksgiving. We'll see how that goes. Anyways. I did get everything packed, and we went and got Chris some food. Something happened that we didn't plan though. Our toilet broke and started leaking all over the floor! We had to shut the water off and go to Home Depot to get the parts we needed. This was after water shot up in my face. lol It was straight out of a movie, I swear! I was messing around trying to get a part inside the tank fixed. No, I didn't turn the water off before! lol And the part that the water runs through popped off and water shot up and got me right between the eyes. LMAO! I'm glad Chris didn't see! He would have made fun of me so bad. We did get it fixed though. We also ended up having to run over to Chris' mom's house unexpectedly to take her something she needed. Well, I have about 30 more minutes before heading to bed. I think I'll go eat a little snack. I'll be back in a week!
